Target Rifle Victoria is the coordinating body for the Bench Rest and Olympic disciplines of air rifle and small-bore (0.22 cal) rifle shooting throughout Victoria. We are an association of about 40 clubs that provides the infrastructure and oversight to ensure that rifle range activities are conducted in safe and enjoyable environment.
Our sport is extremely proud of the safety record that has been achieved by the diligence of club officials and members alike. TRV will continue to develop programs that will provide trained and competent officials to ensure that our safety record is not compromised.
TRV is grateful for the assistance and support provided by the Victorian Institute of Sport and Sport and Recreation Victoria in our development programs. We are committed to developing athletes that can compete successfully at the highest levels, while providing access to competitions that will enable all members to compete at whatever level they choose.
The minimum age for participation is 12 years. Shooters can look forward to many years of competitive shooting with some still very competitive well into their seventies.
Members of TRV receive our yearly calendar which lists the various TRV competitions. Members of TRV are welcome to enter the competitions. While some may believe they 'are not good enough' to compete, the fact is that shooting in TRV competitions is more of a social event ! That is why shooting can be so much fun.
The calendar also lists competitions run by clubs that are open to other members of TRV. Like TRV competitions, participation is often social!
Membership with TRV also provides you with cover under Target Rifle Australia's Public Liability insurance and you will also receive the quarterly TRA magazine to keep you up to date on what is happening in your sport.
